Activities in Ojai/Pine this Saturday
Posted: Fri May 18, 2007 9:48 amSaturday is the "Sea to Summit" charity bike ride from Ventura to the top of Pinos. There will be a large number of cyclists on the 33, and lots of volunteers as well. There will also be ham radio operators along the route and on the mountain tops supporting the ride. Ventura County ARES will be operating on the 2M band.
Rest and support areas are at Rose Valley road, Wolfs Grill, and at the turn off for Pine.
If you are headed to Cheifs or Pine, be careful of the extra traffic, and be sure to follow FAA requirements on the amature bands. I'm not going to replace the anemometer on Rhonda untill the rubberneckers go home.
