Mart, Bob, and I launched west lacumbre in strong SW cycles, getting up over cathedral we all went to west bowl with Marty heading to the VOR. There was a weak but trashy inversion setting up at about 3500, I spent most of my flight climbing through it and then going back down and doing it again. Good practice controling the new beast. Marty got above the inversion and stayed above it ending up at the training hill. Bob and I went to cieneguitas. I collected enough foxtails in my shoes and socks to inseminate all of santa barbara county. What a pain.
Stong lift and wind blowing 3 different directions depending on what layer chosen. Good practice day, and quite a sight watching Marty's new weapon carve through the air, and the peanut gallery ooohing and aaaawing and coming up with adjectives like "jello" to descibe its appearance when encountering the thermal/inversion washing machine. I love the way it looks and Marty makes it look great.
Still waiting for the much anticipated appearance of the Trango3.
