Pine Mountain and The Topas

Gentlemen start your engines! Nordhoff Ridge is open and Pine Mountain, according to the Ranger, has been open for 2 weeks. According to Southside the weather for Thursday and Friday looks promising with development and lift 13k+ . If the weather holds Fast Eddy and I will be in the go mode.

Thursday looks like the day. If the models are to be believed cloudbase should be near 14k. But, they're also saying there is a chance of overdevelopment -- although, the general forecast pages are saying mostly sunny. Winds look L&V.

On Friday the tops are lower. Also the winds don't seem that favorable: NAM is saying moderate ENE winds and GFS is saying NW to about 6k and east above that.

Well, so much for that: lower tops, stronger winds from the wrong direction and if GFS is correct, a lot of mid to high level moisture.

But, hey, Pine is open :-)
