Alternator 3/29

Postby Kabir » Thu Mar 29, 2007 6:59 pm

Got to fly today at the alternator with JD (tandem) Chuk (visiting pilot) Pete and Andy.

Launched first and got to 4k+ between launch and westbowl, it had a bit of SW drift to it, cruised around over launch and got back up to 4600.
Glided over to westbowl but could not get much more than 40-4200
Andy joined on his Trango/targa? 2 and i was surprised at how low he was (he seems to be able to loose all of 2 feet on glide to westbowl from Launch...) then he did get up to our level and proceded to cathedral but before I knew it he was heading out to land pretty low
Turns out he had a big not on the B's or something that made his wing very prone to stalls.

I headed out after a while because it seemed that the SW was coming in from the ocean.

All in all a fun flight, nice to be up and even nicer to get back down in time.

Thanks for the ride Andy!
