Climb rate of 20 mps works out to 3937 fpm up. I read in another forum that other pilots in the area were holding their gliders in full stall and STILL going up. Scary stuff.

Didn't Grantham (or was it Pipkin?) claim a similar ascent rate at Pine a few years back? :)

It was pipkin with 2600ft/min...I had 2400 briefly a few days later on the north side but sparky's was sustained for minutes on end..heh

I would love to hear "the rest of the story". I wonder how far she traveled and how long was she up. I wonder if the gps track will be available. Paraglider magazine should do a feature on this. Its amazing to think how mother nature can rock your world in a heart beat.
