Skyport Sat. 2/3

The day looked poor on paper and today the paper was right. Close to 20 PG pilots on launch with almost no cycles coming in, despite waiting 'till after 12:00 before the first pilot launched. I went 4th and didn't find anything in the house thermal to work with, ending up on the Round House spine. I could maintain there, bouncing from a hundred below the House to a hundred above it, but couldn't transition to anything else. Made a few attempts at the AF but each time I had to limp back to the spine I started from. Got tired of being stuck there and took the glide to Parma. I did see one HG pilot make the glide to the beach but that was an exception for the day. A building West wind put a half dozen or so pilots into St. Mary's and a few others below the lip at Parma.

Vario Log: 440 fpm up, 640 dn, 42 minutes.

At 1:00 the weather station (3800 ft) up near La Cumbre Peak was reading 15 C, while the surface temp at the time was only 17 C.
