La Monarca Competition Update

Postby Bo Criss » Tue Jan 30, 2007 9:35 pm

It's looking good for Dean and Rob at this time for the competition going on in Mexico.

Dean is the 3rd American and in 14th place after 2 days of racing.

Rob is the 5th American and in 20th place currently.

Marty and Andy Palmer are also competing.

There are 124 pilots in the La Monarca Paragliding Competition held in Valle de Bravo.

Congrats guys and good luck !!!

way to go to the Santa Barbara crew. I talked to Marty yesterday and he described the task of the day to me. after being there last week and knowing the area, it was to say the least challenging. Keep up the chase and make us proud. The Word team could use some SB pilots.

The corrected results for task 5 show Marty 3rd and Dean 4th to goal. Only 44 seconds separated 2nd thru 6th place. Wish I could have seen that glide in, I bet the speedbars were pushed to the max!

Going into the final day Dean is in 9th position overall and the second American. Go Chunky Monkey. (I taught him everything he knows.)

I'm still wiped out from the week as are the others that went to Valle but it was soooooo... worth it! I'll post a few words later about the week, for now I'm putting up the photos for some quick entertainment.

Update: I Put up my photos on "pbase" this morning which allows you to view much larger versions of the photos, so I'm changing the link below to the pbase site.
