Ok, this will trip you out... I found this video of hang-gliding in SB in... 1978!!! Maybe some of you recognize some of the pilots. Seems like Wayne Yentis created this video. Anyway, enjoy, or... trip out:

That really was awesome stuff, love the hockey helmet.
Makes what you’re flying today look like a spaceship....

The first person in the clip is John Brant assembling what looks like a Phoenix and the second person walking away from the camera is none other than Competition pilot "no neck" Mike Arrambide First United States

Skippy, you made my day! That video pre-dates my flying in SB by two years.
Correct me if I am wrong but the LZ looks like the old Cater treatment plant at the top of San Roque Road.
I remember the mayhem up at the Peak jockeying for a place to set up tewnty gliders in a place with room for about ten!
Even though today the gliders are newer and we are older, from the looks of the conditions in th video, the thermals today have not changed much...yahoo!
