Good conditions at Pine

September is traditionally the best month at Pine, and it lived up to tradition a couple of days early today 8/30. Willy and Little John were kind enough to let me tag along. Classic south side conditions with cu-wisps starting to form when we got there a bit after 11:30. Pilots launched between 1 and 1:30 and all got up fairly easily to altitudes above 14K. We'd made the decision earlier to head back for the coast, but the day had obvious potential for a run to the desert. Last I looked John and Willy had the beach made (another score for Willy in his Alpha!). I did a dog leg out to one of the points in front of White Ledge out in the Pass and then, with Carp on an easy glide, made logistics easier by turning back to Ojai with about 5K and landing at my truck. Fun times.
