Thursday March 31 / Skyport to Magic Mountain

Opted to throw the anchor at I5 (Magic Mountain) because I'm getting a little rickety and was scared of going into canyon country in the wind. Flight article posted at:

Brief look at the activity on Thursday morning.

Looks possible for open distance eastbound from SB on Thursday. Drier than Wednesday, but still a strong lapse rate. Some early morning drainage, but expect robust onshore upriver draw at the lower altitudes this afternoon. Building NNW wind at altitude this afternoon. Recommend staying on the front range (not going OTB) due to the north flow aloft. The lift looks like it goes pretty high, but the thermal tops might get broken by the north wind above. Anybody have a spare L to XL flight suit? It's going to be cold at altitude (low 40s at 6K and near freezing if you get higher in Ojai).

Eagle's 9:30 bus at Parma looks like a good call, I'll try to be onboard. Anybody want to carpool from Carpinteria?

Friday starts to turn east on the east end of the course. Westbound flights over Casitas Pass from Ojai (Nuthouse?) look like a sure thing on Saturday, and possibly from Oat in Fillmore if the East Santa Anna flow isn't too strong at launch.
