13 Minutes in Heaven

After arriving at the top of Pine Mt., our group of 6 pilots, and one driver, set up at the scene. (Saturday, 9/12/2013, 4:30pmish)
Two got setup and launched before the OTB caught up to everyone else.
Readings were 3 base/ 8 gusts... and 1 from the North... no one knew it would build and shut things down promptly...
As I dropped through the layercake, there was one inversion giving the only excitement of the trip, other than a stronger E wind at about 2k to 1k, causing me crab over the Chorro Fire zone to LB...
Hoping to get to my favorite corner of Pine, Little Bates, I went way to far West of the ridge, and couldn't head back to make the Sand Pile.... so, I landed about 100 yards (?) to the W near the road.
