I would experiment while kiting at Elings or at M. Mesa...It would be good to have a few variations that you are proficient at after practicing in higher and higher winds. Note which is most effective, which technique allows you to keep the glider down and not reinflate by accident.
Another important tip is to avoid the temptation to rosette your wing while standing directly upwind of it...It is wise to walk 90 degrees off the wind line and rosette it quickly in super strong wind after first grabbing a wing tip just to be sure the ride is over.
