First Day of '14!

Postby Chris G » Wed Jan 01, 2014 8:44 pm

Took a loaded van with Kari and crew up to the VOR today. Had a great group from Seattle in town and a few of my own up for their first high flights. Not a stellar lapse rate but it turned out to be pretty decent! Brendan bounced over to West Bowl just in time for the sailplane to make a low pass. I was the last off and took the new Zero speed glider for a rip down to The T. Made it with 500 ft to spare, averaging 6.8:1 with a bit of a headwind! Brendan gave me a boost back to the van, thanks!! I headed off to Elings where the HGs were having a party, and the rest of the crew went for a late run to EJ. Kari made the beach, Robin went to SB HS, and everyone had beautifully buoyant flights to Parma. Fun day! We're doin' it again tomorrow!

Careful flying that Omega 8! It's like a potato chip. You can't fly it just once.
