Chief's Wednesday
Posted: Wed Aug 15, 2012 4:13 pmFollowing Chris's tweet, arrived at Nordhoff at 9:30AM where several us met and made the run up to Chief's Peak.
Bob P., newbie Vince, Dr. Nick, Chris, Tye S. and myself all launched in ideal conditions and proceeded to thermal up and down the ridges and over the peak itself. The thermals got more intense over the next hour before turning ratty and then suddenly shutting down, leaving the 5 of us to cross the valley together and land smoothly in the field with the central windmill. This as my first trip to Chief's and it made a lasting good impression. Big air- close to home. Thanks Chris for making this happen and providing the site intro. I'd encourage more folks to take advantage of Ojai flying!
