Saturdays flying in the back country

While the little lady and I were riding our mountain bikes to Mutau Flats(13 miles) from Lockwood Valley Road they was flat bottom cloud development looking to be 14,000, approximately, from Plow Share to Frazier Mountain. Looked like a nice summer day. The riding was excellent, we had the place to ourselves. We crossed 3 running streams of various steps and ran into a "spotted" toad. If anyone wants to go after this next storm let me know. It should be nice Friday thru the weekend.(805)585-0027.

Sunday went out to Tehacapi and flew sailplanes with Dan Armstrong. Lift to about 12000'. Apparently cloudbase was 15000' the day before in The Owens with a paraglider flying 80 miles? The Antelope Valley is being pillaged before our very eyes with windmills and solar panel farms at the intersect of Highway 138 and 170 near the Poppy Reserve. Enjoy it while it lasts because it is not going to be there long.
