I had my suspicions that Bates might work today and Chad confirmed it late morning. A bunch of us, including Chad, OJ, Andy D and Aaron had a multi-hour session ripping around in 20+ MPH conditions with passes to the East ridge and back with plenty of altitude to either top land or land one bench down. Hard to describe the grins on faces after all that wanging around and the photos hardly do it justice but that was some of the most fun many of us have had in a long time! Andy finished off the day with an awesome soaring session at the parking lot while it pushed nearly 30 MPH!

There's video of Andy's parking lot soar sesh at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=30 ... =2&theater

stopped at bates after work where aaron was swinging the ozone firefly all over the ridge. "ok dudes, i'll try that!" seriously joyful fun zipping all around in the 'too strong to fly' winds! until it built past 25, i stayed up high on the main ridge and sped around- and with the trimmers out i had no problem penetrating in @30 mph at the lower lot ridge. this hybrid gives me a new bird mode~ instead of a soaring raptor it morphed me into a playful crow. hgs were setting up when i left- heard later they made it to ventura.
