Friday Night Posting
Any takers for the Nuthouse Saturday morning? I'll need to start early to allot enough time to get my 30 pounds of ballast up the steep trail in the cooler morning air on a bad ankle and sub optimal cardio condition.
Expect SW down lower in the afternoon, but we should have ENE up higher. Forecasting some wind out the drain paths, but Ojai usually blocks a Santa Anna below ridge line. The lapse rate looks good up through 6K (30 plus degree F spread from the Ojai Valley floor to 6K) and its common to luck into some convergence over White Ledge and Divide. Maybe use La Cumbre Peak as a turn point then head back to Carp. I'd like to roll from Carpinteria about 8:30 for an 11 AM launch, or if any of the Ojai boys got a permit I'm not too humble to jump on a ride to Nordhoff Peak.
Andy Dainsberg expects a good Team Topa turnout. If anyone is making the trip from SB, give me a call so we can carpool. 9:05 at Nordhoff High School.
I expect SB to work OK also, but it might be problematic plugging upwind across Casitas Pass against the NE flow above ridge line.
