Mellow Wednesday - EJ Bowl
Posted: Wed Oct 26, 2011 8:05 pmI've been watching the paragliding tweets like a hawk this week. Partially because I'll be out of town for the next couple of weeks but mostly because I just need some air time right now. The birds are calling. You know how that goes.
Ty and I got up to EJ Bowl around 1:45pm. It was coming up the hill pretty consistently, but with some noticeable cycles in between. Got up pretty fast right off the batt, and got over to R&R with better altitude than usual. It felt like there was an inversion around 4k, but it could have just been the tight, switchy thermals that made it difficult to climb higher.
The flight ended with a quick visit to the Riviera hills and a smooth approach to Parma.
Looks like the weather is clearing up for the rest of this week. Maybe get in a couple more flights before Halloween?
