tons of pilots. got up at RR and went over to la cumbre for a bit. probably a good dozen pgs doing very well at alternator, and several pushed E. i followed aaron back to RR where i hit a great thermal up to 4850 and took that to TF. Aaron (et al) pushed E. Headwind made it tough to consider, so i flew out to the beach with Bob H. Marge and Dave (et al) made it to the beach from points unknown. no flight report is complete without knowing where bob a ended up, so i'll leave this pg report unfinished.

hah, nice day. I climbed out afew hundred at Skyport launch at 1:30, went to RnR with LJ climbed to 4700', glided with 7-8 mph tailwind to La Cumbre, climbed up a bit, followed redtails around down to Alternator, then groveled back just below ridge level, headwind 3-4mph, surfed at and below ridge level the SE facing bowls of La Cumbre for awhile then every nook onto EJ bowl...headed straight out on West EJ Bowl spine, turned left and came into RnR just over the saddle, climed back to 4700', left to Thermal Factory. Fished around for a long time at TF, lost lots of altitude, washy lift, SW low, NE high but alternating between 3300-4100' finally left back to launch, then back to RnR. Climbed back to 4700', pulled glide to the Mesa with 4-5 mph tailwind, and landed on the beach at Mesa Lane steps, low tide made for nice big warm beach to land on. Climbed the stairs, ditched the wing, hopped on my bike and rode back to Parma to collect my car. Super clear day

After landing early with my tandem from Alternator, it was hard to look at the sky and see everyone get a boost, it seemed like the day was just getting going.

I decided to take another look. Off to Parma. No one seemed to be heading up, so I hitch hiked up Gibralter as Little John and Bob Anderson were making it look good. Took off at 2pm and hit a good one right off launch, then cruised over to the R&R. As I was climbing, Bob was heading out over the city. I climbed about 500 over, looked around and nobody was around. No one East, no one West. The Training Hill was calling. Long sweet glide. As I got closer and lower the west wind was kicking a bit. Ended up the back bowl of the Training Hill was ridge soarable for a bit before landing. First time landing at the Training Hill for me - good seeing friends.
