I'm not really good a predicting weather conditions (want to learn blipmaps, etc.) but the forecast is looking pretty good on the normal weather sites with 86 degree weather and fairly light SE winds.
For those that fly the Owens often.... what are your predictions? Am I reading things wrong?

Looking at NAM models for Bishop: Weather looks cool and mellow below 12k'. Laspse rate looks good below 12k', fades above. Weak lift early, better in afternoon. Light winds below 14k'. Light SE low and W at high altitudes. Slightly lighter SW winds aloft Sunday, slightly better lapse rate Sunday. Relative to the Saturday of Labor day weekend, it looks much cooler, weak lift aloft, more stable/less temperature gradient, and lower soaring altitiudes. Should be nice mellow soaring in the 9 to 12k' range once the place warms up. Expect 55-60 degrees F at Walt's launch, 45 at 12k, 80 degrees on the deck. Hope for the cummies to stick arounb, leftovers from today.

Both days looks flyable with light SE wind. Base around 8.5K in the valley and slightly higher in the mountains. Sunny with probably few clouds over higher terrain.

Unfortunately I can't make it this weekend, will try to go next one for NCXC league. Sept. 24-26.

repostings from JamesZ and MattyB:
Everyone had good flights at Walts Point to 11500 Feet. Good times!!!
Had an amazing weekend flying the Owen's Valley... a couple hours ago I was at 11,000+ feet soaring in my hang glider...Epic.
