Pine Update

I went up to Pine Wednesday to check on Rhonda. She is in good physical shape except for two of three anemometer cups missing. I've ordered replacements and those should be here next week. There also seems to be a problem with the radio (third year in a row). I wasnt' able to get to the bottom of that, but that may require another radio replacement. If you have a radio you don't need, that would help get Rhonda back on the air soon!

The gates are locked, but not much of a problem as they are on the ground on the side of the road. There were two other vehicles up there while I was there, so access doesnt' seem like a problem.

The road is rough. The approach just before the North launch will bottom out a vehicle w/o good clearance, and the potholes up by the campground are impressive. I think we should plan to bring shovels to do some road maintenance on the drive up.

The paraglider launch is in perfect shape, no growth or obstructions need to be cleared, but I could find only one wind streamer pole.

The hang launch has at least 7 wind streamer poles visable, but some are scattered and will have to be reinstalled.

I say it's time to start the Pine season!
