Didn't expect to fly today, but a tweet from Brendan got the juices flowing. Andy let me know the van would wait until 10:30 and Jim M. took the flock of eight pilots up to Skyport. Must have been seventy degrees up there. Beautiful, but weak cycles. Andy took the bit in his mouth after almost an hour. It was still too early. Nobody got up at launch, but Art showed there was some lift around the Round House. So Dave, Wade and I took off around noon.

It was slim pickings out front; I kept bumping my head on the ceiling at 2,450 feet at the Antenna Farm. Eventually, a little stronger one pushed through and I left at the top of the thermal - 2,750 feet - and took a glide to the beach. Fairly buoyant on the way out. Slight tailwind, 700 feet at the freeway, 400 feet over East Beach.

Thirty minute flight.

Several HG's were out too. I launched first flying Danielle tandem, she was stoked on her sledder! Max, Matie, and Jay followed. Willy showed patience and it payed. He launched after all the PGs were down (except Cort still on launch), and soared for about an hour.

Willy's a H4 and just moved here from Tahoe. He's down to fly just about every day, so if you want his contact info hit me up.

skyout,
Zippy
