Monday is shaping up for epic post frontal conditions with light SW flow aloft and a 22º spread in Ojai. If it looks like it's going to OD early I'll probably call a 9:00-9:30 meet for the Nuthouse. If the rain is still clearing out and we have time it might be worth the trip to SB for the extra mileage. It would be great to see a fun crew for either. There's a fair coating of snow on the Topas which always makes for epic scenery and fun lunch breaks at Chief's.

Dr. Jack's looks all kinds of screwed up with some pretty wild predictions, so we'll get old fashioned. From my window I can see that it's already looking OD'd toward SB but we still have clear skies in Ojai. Lapse rate looks good with a 21º spread and L&V through 6k. There's snow from White Ledge to Cheif's so it's cold up top. Best I can figure BL Tops should be near 6k. 9:30 at Nordhoff but I think we'll have wiggle room if folks are running late. Looks like a day to go East!

Trailhead at 9:38. Draining down the canyon pretty hard so I decided to sit it out. Drainage never quit but saw some clouds coming off bump one and drifting over Bodees at a fair clip...and looking exceptionally spooky. Figured I'd live to fly another day and headed home. Looking back after exiting the canyon revealed that in the 40 minutes I'd been at the trailhead it had OD'd severely at White Ledge and Nordhoff with tops pushing 9-10K and bottoms at 2200. No bueno. TOMORROW!!
