frickin clear blue sky tuesday

caught the eagle bus at 11 at parma with george, kathy, marge, thea, jeremy, jim w., marite, and ty. we met a crew from seattle at launch. george lead the way and climbed out high in front of the antennas. everyone got off clean and many climbed up up and away. the higher you got the more east it was. i got to about 3500 at thermal factory then ty and i got to about 3700 at rr(however the bastard was always higher then me), and went downwind to catherdral, nothing there but great glide so we floated over to west bowl, got stuck there for a while then got one drifter to about 3500, ty was frickin higher so he made the glide to vor, i tanked up at no name to 3500 again and intercepted the vor spine, climbed up a bit, then top landed to pee and get a drink of water(huge thanks to whoever put the windsock up there). ty was falling asleep overhead, so i relaunched and we got to 4000 and went downwind to painted cave. no love there but it was fun yelling for the keebler. ty turned around and glided back to the vor spine, but my baggie dont go upwind like his supersonic baggie, so i flushed out to the pass to find a place to land. once i got near the bottom i got some zero sink and alot of west wind, so i just let it take me toward the t and squezed under ty for a sweet landing and flight. super fun turning circles and chatting with ty the whole flight in the air.. many were looking higher then us and a few went to the beach. good clean fun in them there hills. thanks to the seattle crew for driving the eagle bus down, and thanks to kathy and thea for retrieve. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

ya mon! thanks again to Thia and Kathy for retrieve, and Marge being air traffic control from the ground. Stoked to have Wayne and Barbara from Seattle here again. They always seem to come around here this time of year and are a great crew to have around. thanks Barb for driving the Eagle van down. I pretty much followed Aaron the whole time. He climbed out at launch and headed to thermal factory, so i did too. he went to R&R, so i did too. we rendezvoused at R&R and we headed west to cathedral. was in lifting air for a minute on glide to cathedral, then exited the lifting air and was getting a 20:1 glide for another minute. not too much happening at cathedral, so we went to west bowl and played around there for a while. cruised to the VOR and watched Aaron execute a sweet top landing and take a piss. I just hung out above the VOR the whole time waiting for him to relaunch. he sure was taking his time. conditions were good though and I never got below the VOR the whole time i waited for him. Aaron crushed it on a DHV 1-2 today. fun flying dude!
