Very fun day at Pine. We had Ron Faoro, Jonas, Robb Milley, Tom Pipkin, Dietrich, and me. All six of us boated around over launch and the main ridge for about 30 minutes. Gaggle flying and enjoying smooth, fat, thermals and very light south wind. The plan was to go OTB, so when Jonas, Robb, Dietrich and I found ourselves in a tight gaggle at 9K we decided to head out.
The glide to Dry Canyon was bouyant with a few stops along the way to tank up with some light lift. I had about 83 when I got to the road, topped it up to 96 and headed for the Badlands with Jonas.
The six of us managed to land at fairly regular intervals from Dry Canyon to Lockwood valley. Pipkin took the day by landing at the airport in Lockwood Valley. He also had the best altitude with over 12K. I guess the year off of flying didn't set him back much.
We are planning to go back tomorrow (sunday) so if you would like to join, give me a call or shoot me a txt.

Last one to launch and discovered that I had 3 left gloves and no right. If anyone heads back up, please be on the lookout for a good winter glove that I may have left at launch, (found the other glove at home)
340-0809.
Very comfotable flying in a light jacket and shorts. Mellow lift, light winds and low turb made for a sweet Pine opener.
You wouldn't have liked it Chris.
