8 am Sunday Morning Synopsis: Wind event is past. There is still some fading north above the range, but we won't likely be getting high enough for it to be problematic. The lapse rate continues to fad as well, with today being more stable than yesterday, but still not too bad for May. With the longer hours, high sun angle, and minimal ocean cooling, the areas protected from the ocean air should get pretty hot forming some reasonable puddles. If the afternoon breeze doesn't build, scuffing away the surface puddles and breaking up the weak lift, it might work good late in the day.
Building high pressure and dry air. I think the Peak wind sensor is out of service, but Montecito is light and all surface stations were calm at sunrise, including the east channel buoy. The NWS image maps are also stuck on Friday, so use one of the other commercial providers
My truck is on launch, so I may head up early to collect it. Might be a good day to fly to the beach.
