Might be a good time to try some other sites....Is anyone interested in making a trip up to Figueroa, or Happy Canyon ?

Hey "CortF," I don't know who you are, but I'm interested in Happy Canyon and Figueroa. It's Saturday night; call me if you're going there Sunday. I will probably also have some weekdays off next week. I live in Lompoc and I've been to HC a couple times when it was very marginally soarable. I haven't been to Figueroa; I looked around up there once but couldn't figure out where launch and LZ were. I've been wanting to check it out for a long time, so please contact me whenever you do go so I can get a site intro. Thanks, John 733-4706 home, 661-204-6875 cell. I fly PG and HG.

PS: Obviously, I regret not checking the forum Friday to learn of the Saturday trip, but I don't have yours or many other SB PG pilots' phone numbers anyway, (and I would have arranged to meet you around Los Olivos, which is a lot easier for me than driving to the T first).
Please post how the day was.

Hi John, sorry I didn't respond to you but I just now saw your post ( Sunday) . I'd defintely like to head out there again, since our mountain flying in SB is currently on hold. Happy Canyon is always a late afternoon possibility. I'll be in touch....

If you're looking for alternatives to the south of SB, a crew went to Pine on Friday (7 pilots and a driver), five pilots launched and reported better flights than what the two who didn't launch thought they were having.

Another crew went to Cheifs Peak on Saturday (9 pilots and a driver) with fantastic flying for all.

On Sunday a crew went to Oat in Fillmore (4 pilots and driver), which has the opportunity for top landing and re-launching, and we had fun flights.

And don't forget the hike-and-fly options at the grade and nuthouse.

I saw the posting for Pine...assumed it was hang glider pilots only, though....how does one get in the loop for Chiefs, Oat, and the Nuthouse ? Didn't see anything posted before last weekend.....
