Not Always Right But Never In Doubt

Postby Southside » Mon Jun 19, 2006 12:37 pm

I think I'm batting below my weight when I make these kind of long term predictions...but, what the hell. Keep an eye on this weekend for Pine.

GFS for the Grapevine -

Saturday: 17-18k tops; fairly light winds SW to 10K and then SE above that. There should be nice cloud development near 18k with a chance of thunderstorms the farther east you go (Barstow area). *Note: none of the general forecasts are calling for this at this time; just me!

Sunday: 14k tops and west winds.

Promise, no more updates after this. I mean, everyone knows how read a forecast. From today's Las Vegas discussion page:

OTHER CONCERN IS THE PROGS HAVE INCREASING MOISTURE AT 700 MB AND HIGHER SATURDAY ON. FORECAST SOUNDINGS HAVE SOUTHWEST WINDS BELOW 10K AND EAST ABOVE AND THE INCREASED MOISTURE AND PW ASSOCIATED WITH THE EAST FLOW

Hmmm, sounds kinda familiar :-)
