Rewarded after a skunk

The Eagle van pulled out of Parma Park at about 9:45am with several paragliders and 2 hang gliders on top. Ron and Tom lauched in the small window that opened in the clouds at Skyport and Eliminator and got drilled. Ron made it to Parma while Tom did a great spot landing on the road at St. Mary's. Several para-gliders and hand glider pilots did the para/hang-waiting thing hoping to see another opening. Some impressive hacky sack playing was going on at the Eliminator but we finally packed it in and took the sad road down the hill and back to Parma. I was just about to turn in my driveway when the twitter went off....

WIlcox is on!

Guess where I went?

I could see Magic in the air as I drove down Las Positas and when I got to WIlcox I found Kevin killing it on his new Takoo. He made a mother and daughter pair very happy after great tandem rides. Chris, Benson and Terry got some good air time. It took me four tries and Kevin's excellent coaching before I was able to top land in the high winds.

But the ones who really had a great time were the hangies... Ben and Aaron who were joined by Crazy Dave a little later.

Here are some shots from the afternoon, boy were they rewarded after being skunked at the Eliminator. I heard at least one paraglider pilot say, "Wow, now that makes me want to hang glide."
