Here it is May and we are into “June gloom” already! Well there is an Rx for it. Head on out to the Cuyama Valley with us for some great flying from the Plowshare launch. A nice goal for this flight is the Buckhorn restaurant and saloon that is 20 miles down range. From there we will backtrack to Cottonwood Canyon Rd at the end of which is Bates Canyon campground. The evening will be spent around a campfire consuming adult beverages and listening/telling tall tales of the days adventure. Sunday we will head back up the Mt. but not to fly. This will be a day long bike ride through some of the most beautiful country Santa Barbara has to offer. The coarse is along a dirt road. Starting at McPherson Peak (5500ft) and moving through rolling hills and flower choked meadows finally dropping out down Santa Barbara canyon. The ride covers 21.85 miles with some gentle climbs and long dissents. We have logistics arranged so all you have to do is bring your own food, water and bike for a memorable day in the back country of S.B. county. Hope to see you all there.
