Looks like Pine is blown out today (25 mph out of the south, currently). Too bad. I guess last Monday would have been the call...

Well... Several of us still headed up to Pine despite the wind predictions hoping that they would back off later in the day. Our truck arrived at launch (Dave Teal, DD, Aaron Luckett, Jeff Johnson, and myself) greeted by Terry Taggert, who was also waiting out the conditions. It was blowing about 25 but seemed to be backing off.

Around 2pm, strong cycles were coming in at launch and it looked definately flyable. Our only problem was that cloudbase looked to be about 8K and nobody wanted to end up landing at TJ's. So.... we decided to abort the day as going OTB looked pretty bleak. Nice day though... shared some stories and had a good time talking about the meteorology of the Pine mountain range. I'm sure we will have a couple more days before the Pine season ends.
