Had a wee bit of N up high but light low. Headed for pine to find very decent cycles up the front. Matt was first off and climbed out easily to near 9k. I found strong cores over the spine and slightly disorganized lift. Took it to 8800 before deciding to run for Guillermo...mahogany? Whatever That ridge south of the Sandpile is. Matt hadn't found much there but I managed to find a light 50 up back to 8850. I was being drifted toward Ojai and supposedly had the HS on a 6.3:1 glide. Decided to go for it and quickly found my ground speed had accelerated to 60km/h. Yeeeehaw! Easy but slightly textury glide to the HS. Arrived with 2k to spare! Another beautiful evening at Pine!

Nice flight Chris, connecting to Ojai with minimal altitude. We refer to the ridge south of the Sand Pile as Ortega Ridge. The USGS Topo map list Ortega Hill just east of Cherry Creek as one of the points on the ridge. The Topo map list the next ridge south (just south of Tule Creek) as Dry Lake Ridge. Guillermo is the mountain on the SW side of Lockwood Valley.
