Nice! Glad to hear that some folks are out there gettin' some. Hey, I have a niviuk and a xalps harness, can I come play with your clique too?
Sounds like you have not learned the fine art of checking the weather: The trick is to look until you find something close to what you were hoping for, and then stop looking!. The hard part is disregarding all the other conflicting data when only one source looks marginally good and all the others are pretty much saying stay home. It takes a strength and bravery (read: denial) to go with your gut (biassed, desperate hopes) and let go of conventional wisdom. What makes all these other sources such an expert anyway, unless of course they have a favorable forecast!??
On that note, what say we test this theory in Ojai tomorrow, Saturday the 13th? Any takers? What's a 45 minute hike with your pack when you have an average forecast that MIGHT be really good after all???
just asking?
