The Training Hill!

What a day at the hill. Those of us that lucked into being there on this bright sunny day, experienced butter smooth lift 5 - 600 (maybe more) feet above launch, a decent and steady wind for excellent kiting and ridge lift, and the excitement of multiple launches and landings. It was on for hours.

I had the thought today that the training hill is the center point in my flying. It's where I go for a guaranteed good time. If there's no lift, the challenge is to perfect the sidehill landing and get some exercise. If there is strong lift, I'm there to try to fly as long as I can without instrumentation. Strongish wind: kiting practice is fun. Of course it's also a wonderful meeting spot to hang out with friends, talk weather and flight and watch the birds.

I've got to give props to this flying site today, as it produced one of the most memorable days of flying I've had for a while.
