Nice flying at Oat Mtn yesterday with a big group. Thank you Mark and Ronnie for having us up! Drove up watching three condors circle over launch with JB, Malcom, and Tim soaring all over the ridge.

What a great spot. It exceeded my expectations a hundred fold. All the landing spots, and there are many of them, were wide open and totally approachable. Top landing was a bit challenging with the wind, but it was fun to figure out. The condors soaring around us really made it a magical spot. They drew us away from the ridge lift into some great thermals that took us up over 3,500 ft. I never knew how beautiful Filmore could be. I'll definitely hit that spot up again when Mark offers it. Thanks Mark, I appreciate you being such an amicable host.

Great day at Oat Mountain. Serious fun flying with the Condors.
There was a great group of hang and para pilots there. I took about 200 pictures but If I didn't get your picture, sorry, but I wanted to get airtime too. Lot's of Tim B since he launched first. Many of Dave Teal, Bob A and Marty D who showed up later.
A big THANKS to Mark for showing us around the LZ's, site intro, and taking us up to launch!
Cheers,
-Jon

On "post" frontal days Oat Mountain can be great place to start for a "cross" country flight into the desert. Instead of the lower cloud bases that you have to deal with in the Casitas Pass, Ojai and Santa Paul Peak it is not uncommon to to have nice clouds "lined" up all the way into the desert, unfortunately it seems to be "under" utilized for that purpose.
