The lapse rate looked good, and the north in the winds aloft forecast had backed down so we made a move for the Skyport. We had new P2 Ryan from Alaska on his first high flight as a P2 who flew for an hour and 20 minutes.
We met up at Parma at 10:15am, but the Eagle Van didn’t roll out till 10:30am. Captain Greg Knudsen is in town so we had some good karma on our side. New P2 Dahveed had his 3rd high flight which included a tour of the thermal factory. The rest of the crew was made up of Marge, Cracka, Jared Carlson, Parma, Josh from Telluride, Kev Howe, and Cort showed up as well.
Nice cycles at launch, and most everybody got up at launch. People were touring the R&R and the Thermal Factory. It was working well out front as well. New P2 Ryan got to 2850 over Parma.
There were a couple pilots who flew to the beach, and the rest of the crew ended up at Parma. We grabbed a bite then headed to the training hill for a really nice afternoon of flying and ground handling.
We will be looking for more action tomorrow so be sure to check the morning post on the Eagle Website.
