Turned out to be a decent day if you timed it right. OJ, Chris P and I met Ron at Skyport and were off launch by 11:30ish. Cycles were East and strong but the overcastiness made things a little weird. Ron and I were able to get high enough over launch to run for the R&R where we clawed up to 4200. Some pretty dark scuds went over but never really shut it down. OJ and Chris P didn't fare as well and the scuds shut launch down. I skipped off Cathedral on my way to WB to join the folks who had launched Alternator. Wasn't working well below 3k but it was easy to stay up once you were established over the peak. Ron joined after diving through the East rotor on the way to LaCumbre. Took a drifty one out toward the VOR but opted to head out one ridge early. Not the day we expected given the winds aloft and lapse rate but it was still worth the drive.
