Itching...a wing retrieval story

Postby Marge » Thu Feb 05, 2009 1:43 am

Okay in order to change the forum mood, I am pre-posting my retrieval story. Photos and story will follow in the next day or so.
Just to give you a taste, it’s 2:00am and I’m wide-awake. Must be the prednisone I took, for the poison oak I got, after boldly telling many people, “I don’t get poison oak”. WRONG! :( I am eternally grateful to Bob and Aaron who are also itching. So, so, sorry guys. :?

End result –
Aaron – up and down past 3 pools at the seven falls – several detours, rock scaling, tree climbing and tree trimming - poison oak – Couldn’t have got it without you. 8)

Bob - up and down past the 3 pools at the seven falls - 2 times (not including the hike up to the trail end the first day to meet me with my backpack), yes 2 times in the same day, once coming down in the dark, several detours, tree trimming with dull dry wall blade. Thanks for being so stubborn. :)

Marge
up past three pools at seven falls – 1 time -with detours, crawling up and through the brush to tunnel trail to West Camino Cielo Road (not on the 1st attempt, 5 hours later).
up and down past 3 pools at the seven falls – several detour - 1 time
hiking down from past 3 pools at seven falls after being a local who landed in a tree in Santa Barbara. I was a visiting pilot (and I used the word pilot very loosley back then) last time I landed in a tree in Santa Barbara. Does that mean the incidents wash each other out and don’t count at all? :D
Is it like a double negative and doesn’t really exist,
or for you math fans…

1 local pilot = Marge in tree
1 visiting pilot = Marge in tree

You take 1 local pilot and subtract 1 visiting pilot of the same value (Marge in tree) and you get zero. See it doesn’t exist and never happened.

By the way… no damage to the wing and the lines just needed untangling. :P

Go down to the local pharmacy and ask the folks behind the counter for a tube of Zanfel. It's about $40 for a tube, but it'll last a good long time and will fix the poison oak. They usually keep it behind the counter because people swipe it. I've had it take burly P.O. off in 6 hours.

Cormac got P.O. going up the Nuthouse. Curious how it worked out for him.
