Chiefs Peak 11/18/08

Andy & Amy Beam, Fast Eddie and I flew Chiefs today. Per the Blip maps it didn't look like is was going to be very good, BUT Eddie said based on his calculations and interpretation of the data, the day looked good. He saw that it looked like we might reach 7500 or more. The blips said 3800-4000 or so.
I launched first and flew to the first bump on the right of launch...worked that up to 6200 before heading down towards West Repeater to East Repeater to the Boyds then got low in front ...wasn't going to make the Beams LZ. Finally found lift that was able to take me from 2800 back to 3900. More then enough to make the LZ with 700 over, plus it gave this gave me luxury of seeing the powerline layout.
Great day to play hooky from work...at least the morning-afternoon. I did go in and work till 9:00 pm.
Thanks Eddie for all your tips and advice on how to read that weather info.

PS. Amy flew up to 7800'....Eddie nailed that one!
