When was the last time you flew downrange in shirtsleeves? Unbelievable soaring today while the temperature downtown hit 90 degrees. The lapse rate was decent and Brendan, OJ, Robb and I launched Skyport around noon. We reached over four and one half grand at the R&R. Brendan topped 5,300 at La Cumbre Peak, then we turned eastbound and found good lift at the usual places. Good visuals - a beautiful day to fly. The air was very buoyant; I lost only 300 feet flying from the R&R to La Cumbre Peak. It got trashy after Romero Canyon, but we still could hit about 4K on Castle Ridge before heading out to land at the Padaro Grill. It was so good we had to drink beer afterwards to come down.
One and a half hour flight. Might be good again tomorrow.
